Use JustGains in Grok Bot
Build saved workouts, check your training history, and log meals through the JustGains connector in Grok Bot.
Tell Grok Bot, "Build a 30-minute dumbbell workout and save it to JustGains." The JustGains connector gives it tools to find exercises and save a workout to your account. You can open the returned link in JustGains when you are ready to train.
The same connection lets Grok Bot read your recorded training history and add meals to your food diary. Use the JustGains account you already use on your phone so your plans and diary stay together.
Connect JustGains
- Open Grok Bot and select Marketplace in the sidebar. Search for JustGains.
- When the listing is available, select Add and complete the JustGains sign-in in your browser.
- Sign in with your usual JustGains account. Return to Grok Bot after authorization.
- Mention JustGains with @ in your chat, then ask: "Show my recent JustGains workouts."
Use a custom MCP connection
In Grok Bot's plugin management, add a custom MCP server, choose Remote HTTPS, and enter https://justgains.com/grok/mcp. Complete the JustGains authorization in your browser. JustGains uses OAuth with PKCE; you do not need an API key or a password in chat. Your account or team may control whether custom servers are available.
The open-source connector package is at JustGains on GitHub. It connects to the same server used by JustGains in Claude and ChatGPT. There is no local server to run.
Make a workout you can use
Give Grok Bot your available time and equipment. Include the muscles you want to train, any exercises you want to keep, and the units for your weights. It can search the JustGains exercise library and save the plan to your connected account.
- "Use JustGains to make a 25-minute upper-body workout with dumbbells and a bench. Save it to my account."
- "Create a workout with dumbbell bench press for 3 sets of 8 and rows for 3 sets of 10. Use pounds and include rest periods."
- "Show my saved workout and help me replace the cable exercises with dumbbell exercises."
Ask about your training history
Ask Grok Bot to check your JustGains history when you want an answer based on your own logs. Include a date range or a specific exercise. It can retrieve completed sessions, exercise history, and progress summaries, then link to the workouts behind the answer.
- "Check JustGains and summarize my completed workouts from the last seven days."
- "How has my bench press changed this month? Use my JustGains logs."
- "Which exercises have I trained most often in the last 30 days?"
Log meals from chat
Say what you ate and include portions when you know them: "Log two eggs, two slices of toast, and a coffee with milk in JustGains for breakfast." Grok Bot can save the meal through the food logging tool and return your diary totals. Nutrition estimates and portion assumptions are disclosed when exact information is missing.
If a detail changes, ask it to correct the saved entry: "That was three eggs, not two. Update breakfast." You can also ask to see your diary for a particular day. Open the Nutrition workspace in JustGains to review your entries; a connected app receives diary changes through its normal sync.
Manage the connection
Keep passwords and access tokens out of chat. JustGains authentication happens in your browser, and the connector acts on the account you connect. To stop access, disconnect the plugin in Grok Bot and revoke its connected session in JustGains. Reconnect if Grok Bot reports that authorization has expired.
