Instructions
Seated Jack with a Towel on a Padded Stool
- A towel (or a bar if preferred)
1. Starting Position:
- Sit on the padded stool with your feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart.
- Hold the towel firmly in both hands. If using a bar, grip it with both hands at shoulder width.
- Keep your spine straight and your chest up.
2. Set Your Body:
- Lean slightly forward with your torso while maintaining a straight back.
- Ensure your shoulders are back and down, not hunched.
3. Movement:
- Towel Position: Extend your arms straight in front of you, keeping the towel taut.
- Push Forward: While maintaining the position of your arms, push against the towel as if you’re trying to stretch it further apart.
- Hold the Position: Hold this position for a moment, feeling the tension in your arms, shoulders, and core.
- Return: Slowly bring your arms back to the starting position in front of you.
4. Repeat:
- Perform this movement for 10-15 repetitions.
- Focus on controlled movements, keeping your core engaged throughout.
5. Breathing:
- Inhale as you extend your arms forward.
- Exhale as you return to the starting position.
Tips:
- Start with a light towel to get accustomed to the movement.
- Ensure your movements are slow and controlled to maximize effectiveness and minimize the risk of injury.
- Adjust the tension on the towel based on your strength level; you can increase the resistance by gripping it closer together.
