Instructions

Seated Boat Row with a Towel on a Padded Stool

- A towel

Starting Position:

1. Sit on the padded stool with your feet flat on the ground and slightly apart, about hip-width apart.
2. Hold the towel with both hands, keeping your palms facing down, and extend your arms in front of you at shoulder height. Your grip should be shoulder-width.

Execution:

1. Initial Pull: Begin by pulling the towel towards your chest while bending your elbows. Keep your elbows close to your body and squeeze your shoulder blades together. Your hands should be moving towards your lower rib cage.
2. Hold the Position: At the peak of the pull, pause for a moment to engage your back muscles and maintain tension on the towel.
3. Return to Start: Slowly extend your arms back to the starting position while controlling the movement. Focus on keeping your back straight and your core engaged throughout the exercise.

Tips:

- Maintain good posture throughout the exercise; keep your back straight and avoid slouching.
- Keep your movements smooth and controlled to maximize muscle engagement.
- You can adjust the difficulty by changing the tension in the towel; pulling tighter will make it more challenging.
- Start with slower repetitions and increase speed as you build strength and confidence.

Repetitions:

- Aim for 10-15 repetitions, then rest for a minute. Repeat for 2-3 sets, depending on your fitness level.
