Instructions
1. Begin by sitting or standing in a comfortable position with a neutral head posture.
2. Keep your lips closed and gently pressed together without tightening them.
3. Take a deep breath through your nose and partially fill your cheeks with air.
4. Begin to produce a vibration with your lips, letting them flutter together without using your vocal cords. It's similar to the action you would use to play a brass instrument or to make the sound of a horse trotting (sometimes referred to as a "raspberry").
5. Continue the vibration for a set duration of time, typically between 10-30 seconds for beginners.
6. Repeat the vibration for multiple sets, ensuring you breathe normally in between sets.
7. This exercise can help to tone the muscles around the mouth and increase blood flow to the facial area.
Note: This exercise might be used by some as a warm-up for brass instrument players or as a speech therapy technique, rather than a traditional physical workout routine. Always consult a professional if you're using these exercises for therapeutic purposes.
