Instructions

Setup and Positioning

  • Lie flat on your back on a mat, with your knees bent and feet planted firmly on the floor.

  • Hold a pair of dumbbells in each hand at chest level, with your elbows resting on the ground.

  • Position your forearms vertically, creating a 90-degree angle between your upper arms and your torso.

Performing the Movement

  • Press phase: Drive the dumbbells straight upward toward the ceiling by extending your arms, focusing on squeezing your chest muscles.

  • Ensure your shoulders stay pinned to the floor throughout the movement.

  • Once your arms are fully extended (avoid locking the elbows), pause briefly at the top.

  • Return phase: Lower the weights in a controlled motion until your upper arms gently touch the floor.

  • Maintain a steady tempo and ensure the dumbbells move in a direct vertical path during the entire repetition.
