Dumbbell Floor Chest Press
Build a powerful chest and triceps with the Dumbbell Floor Press. The floor stop limits range of motion to protect your shoulders while maximizing muscle tension and lockout strength.
Instructions
Setup and Positioning
Lie flat on your back on a mat, with your knees bent and feet planted firmly on the floor.
Hold a pair of dumbbells in each hand at chest level, with your elbows resting on the ground.
Position your forearms vertically, creating a 90-degree angle between your upper arms and your torso.
Performing the Movement
Press phase: Drive the dumbbells straight upward toward the ceiling by extending your arms, focusing on squeezing your chest muscles.
Ensure your shoulders stay pinned to the floor throughout the movement.
Once your arms are fully extended (avoid locking the elbows), pause briefly at the top.
Return phase: Lower the weights in a controlled motion until your upper arms gently touch the floor.
Maintain a steady tempo and ensure the dumbbells move in a direct vertical path during the entire repetition.
