Setup
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart.
Hold a dumbbell in each hand.
Bring the two dumbbells together in front of your thighs, touching the ends to form a diamond shape or close neutral grip.
Movement
Keep a slight bend in your elbows throughout the entire movement.
Engage your core and keep your back straight.
Exhale and lift both dumbbells simultaneously while keeping them together in the diamond grip.
Raise the weights until your arms are parallel to the floor, maintaining the close grip throughout the path.
Pause for a brief second at the peak of the movement, squeezing your shoulders.
Inhale and slowly lower the weights down to the starting position in a controlled motion.
Form Tips
Do not swing the weights; use controlled, deliberate movements.
Do not lean backward to assist in the lift; keep your body upright and rigid.
