Instructions

Setup

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart.

  • Hold a dumbbell in each hand.

  • Bring the two dumbbells together in front of your thighs, touching the ends to form a diamond shape or close neutral grip.

Movement

  • Keep a slight bend in your elbows throughout the entire movement.

  • Engage your core and keep your back straight.

  • Exhale and lift both dumbbells simultaneously while keeping them together in the diamond grip.

  • Raise the weights until your arms are parallel to the floor, maintaining the close grip throughout the path.

  • Pause for a brief second at the peak of the movement, squeezing your shoulders.

  • Inhale and slowly lower the weights down to the starting position in a controlled motion.

Form Tips

  • Do not swing the weights; use controlled, deliberate movements.

  • Do not lean backward to assist in the lift; keep your body upright and rigid.
