Cable High-Pulley Lateral Raise

Sculpt capped delts with the Cable Lateral Raise. This exercise provides constant tension and a superior stretch for maximum side-shoulder isolation and growth.

Setup

  • Attach a single-handle attachment to a cable pulley at the lowest setting.

  • Stand sideways to the cable machine, so the working arm is furthest away from the stack or cross-body setup.

Execution

  • Grab the handle with the hand furthest from the pulley, letting the cable pass in front of your body.

  • Maintain a slight bend in your elbow throughout the movement; do not lock your arm straight.

  • Leading with your elbow, raise your arm out to the side until it reaches parallel with your shoulder.

  • Maintain a controlled tempo, pausing briefly at the top to emphasize the squeeze in the shoulder.

  • Slowly return to the starting position across your body, resisting the cable's pull.
