Instructions

Setup

Stand facing a sturdy counter or high table. Feet should be roughly hip-width apart. Place your hands on the counter for balance.

The Movement

  1. Maintain an upright posture with your core engaged.

  2. Shift your weight onto one leg (the standing leg).

  3. Keeping the other leg (the working leg) straight, slowly reach it backward as far as is comfortable, without arching your lower back. Focus on squeezing your glute at the peak of the movement.

  4. Slowly return the leg to the starting position without resting it completely on the floor to maintain tension.

  5. Complete the desired number of repetitions, then switch to the other leg.
