Sumo Shoulder Squat Stretch
Instructions
Setup
Begin in a wide-stance sumo squat, with your feet wider than shoulder-width apart and toes pointed slightly outward.
Lower yourself into a deep squat position, ensuring your knees are aligned with your toes.
Place your hands on your knees, keeping your arms straight to support your upper body.
Movement
From the deep squat, press your right hand into your right knee, pushing outward to further engage the hip opening.
Simultaneously, rotate your torso to the left, allowing your right shoulder to drop inward toward the center.
Keep your left arm straight, using your left hand to maintain pressure on the left knee.
Look over your left shoulder to deepen the stretch through your thoracic spine and chest.
Hold the position for a brief moment, breathing deeply, then return to the starting centered position.
Repeat on the opposite side by pressing your left hand into your left knee and rotating your torso to the right.
