Instructions

Setup

  • Begin in a wide-stance sumo squat, with your feet wider than shoulder-width apart and toes pointed slightly outward.

  • Lower yourself into a deep squat position, ensuring your knees are aligned with your toes.

  • Place your hands on your knees, keeping your arms straight to support your upper body.

Movement

  • From the deep squat, press your right hand into your right knee, pushing outward to further engage the hip opening.

  • Simultaneously, rotate your torso to the left, allowing your right shoulder to drop inward toward the center.

  • Keep your left arm straight, using your left hand to maintain pressure on the left knee.

  • Look over your left shoulder to deepen the stretch through your thoracic spine and chest.

  • Hold the position for a brief moment, breathing deeply, then return to the starting centered position.

  • Repeat on the opposite side by pressing your left hand into your left knee and rotating your torso to the right.
