Sumo Arm-Assisted Squat
Instructions
Setup
Start in a wide-stance sumo squat position with your feet wider than shoulder-width apart and toes pointed slightly outward.
Squat down until your hips are below your knees, keeping your chest up and back straight.
Reach down and grab the top of your feet or toes with both hands, keeping your arms inside your legs.
The Movement
Begin the ascent by pushing through your heels to straighten your legs while maintaining a grip on your toes.
Keep your head down and look back towards your legs as you move into a forward fold position.
Once your legs are fully extended or you feel a deep stretch in your hamstrings, pause momentarily.
Return to the squat position by bending your knees and dropping your hips back down towards the floor.
Keep your chest held up and spine neutral while in the bottom, deep-squat phase of the movement.
Ensure constant tension in your legs throughout the full range of motion.
