Instructions

Setup

Begin by lying flat on your back on a yoga mat, with your arms extended overhead and your legs fully extended flat on the floor. Keep your back neutral and your core braced.

Movement

  1. Engagement: Begin by inhaling, then engage your abdominals to initiate the movement.

  2. The Raise: Exhale as you smoothly contract your core to lift both your legs and upper body off the floor simultaneously.

  3. The Peak: Reach your hands toward your feet, balancing on your sit bones at the top of the movement. Your body should form a 'V' shape.

  4. The Return: Slowly and with control, lower both your upper body and legs back down to the starting position without letting them touch the floor completely if you wish to increase difficulty.

Key Tips

  • Control over Momentum: Avoid swinging your arms or legs to generate momentum; the movement should be controlled by your core muscles.

  • Lower Back Safety: Maintain constant abdominal tension to protect your lower back throughout the entire motion.
