Instructions

Setup

  1. Hold a dumbbell in the hand corresponding to the working leg (or for balance if preferred) and position yourself next to a sturdy rack or wall for support.

  2. Stand on one leg on the edge of a weight plate or small platform, keeping the heel off the edge to allow for a full range of motion.

  3. Grab the rack with your free hand to maintain balance.

Execution

  1. Initiate the movement by performing a small, rhythmic hopping motion on your forefoot.

  2. Do not actually jump off the floor; the aim is a controlled, high-frequency bouncing action driven primarily by the ankle and calf complex.

  3. Keep your knee slightly bent throughout the movement to focus tension on the calf muscle.

  4. Maintain a fast, explosive tempo to mimic the stimulus of speed rope training under added resistance.

  5. Continue for the desired number of repetitions, then switch to the opposite leg.
