Setup
Place a yoga block or a small step on the floor near a wall for balance support. Stand on the edge of the block with the ball of one foot, letting the heel hang off. Use the wall for light balance assistance.
Movement
Starting Position: Stand tall on the working leg, balanced with help from the wall, with the non-working leg bent at the knee and held behind you. Lower the heel of the working foot as far as it can comfortably go to feel a stretch in the calf.
The Raise: Drive through the ball of the foot to lift the heel as high as possible, contracting the calf muscle at the top.
Return: Slowly lower the heel back down in a controlled motion to the starting position for a full range of motion. Keep the core engaged for stability throughout the movement.
