Side Oblique Crunch to Leg Lift
Instructions
Setup
Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and arms extended overhead.
Engage your core to maintain stability throughout the movement.
Movement
Shift your weight onto one leg.
Exhale as you simultaneously lift the opposite leg out to the side (abduction) while bringing your torso into a lateral crunch on the same side.
Bring your elbow toward your knee at the side, shortening the distance between your ribcage and hip.
Keep the extended leg straight and toe pointed if comfortable.
Inhale as you return to the starting upright position with arms back overhead.
Complete the desired number of repetitions on one side before switching to the other.
Tips for Success
Maintain an upright posture; avoid leaning the torso forward.
Focus on the contraction of the oblique muscles rather than just lifting the leg.
Keep movements controlled to ensure balance is maintained.
