Instructions
Setup
Begin in a half-kneeling position on a mat, with one knee down and the other foot placed flat on the floor to the side, legs extended straight outward.
Movement
Keep your torso upright and engage your core for stability.
Place the hand of the arm corresponding to the bent knee onto your hip or thigh if needed for balance.
Inhale as you reach your opposite arm straight up toward the ceiling.
Exhale as you slowly lean your torso toward the straight leg, actively reaching the raised arm overhead to create a deep stretch along the side of your torso.
Hold the position for the desired duration while maintaining deep, controlled breathing.
Form Tips
Keep your chest open and avoid collapsing forward into the stretch.
Ensure your hips stay facing forward throughout the movement to maximize the stretch in the oblique muscles.
