Resistance-Band Side-Lying Hip Abduction
Sculpt and strengthen your glutes and hips with this targeted isolation move. Using a resistance band adds constant tension to level up your lower-body stability and core control.
Instructions
Setup
Lie on your side on the yoga mat with your legs extended, stacked on top of each other.
Position the resistance band just above your knees.
Support your head with your lower arm and place your other hand on the floor in front of you for stability.
Movement
Maintain a straight top leg and engage your core to keep your hips stacked and still throughout the movement.
Slowly lift your top leg toward the ceiling against the resistance of the band.
Pause briefly at the top of the movement, squeezing your hip muscles.
Control the descent as you return the leg to the starting position without letting it touch the bottom leg completely, maintaining tension in the band.
