Instructions

Setup

  • Lie flat on your back on a yoga mat.

  • Bring your legs up into a tabletop position with knees bent at 90 degrees.

  • Place your hands lightly behind your head, keeping your elbows wide.

Movement

  • Initiate the movement by lifting your shoulders and upper back off the ground.

  • Simultaneously twist your torso, bringing the opposite elbow toward the raised knee, while extending the other leg straight out.

  • Pause briefly at the point of contraction, squeezing your abdominal muscles.

  • Return to the starting position and repeat on the opposite side in a controlled, alternating motion.

Form Tips

  • Keep your lower back pressed firmly into the mat throughout the exercise to protect your spine.

  • Avoid pulling on your neck with your hands; the momentum should come from your core rotation.

  • Breathe steadily, exhaling as you twist and crunch toward the knee.
