Instructions

Lat Shoulder Stretch Into Shoulder Shrug

Starting Position

1. Stand facing the box with your feet shoulder-width apart.
2. Place both hands on the top of the box, keeping your arms extended.
3. Ensure your body is straight, with your back flat and your head in line with your spine.

Exercise Instructions

1. Lat Stretch: Gently lean your upper body forward, keeping your arms straight. You should feel a stretch in your shoulders and lats (the muscles on your sides). Hold this position for about 10-15 seconds.

2. Shoulder Shrug: While still leaning forward, relax your shoulders and let them hang. Then, engage your shoulders by bringing them up toward your ears (shrugging). Hold for a moment and then release them back down. Repeat this shrugging motion 10-15 times.

3. Breathing: Make sure to breathe deeply throughout the exercise. Inhale while you stretch and exhale during the shrugs.

4. Repetition: Complete 2-3 sets of the entire stretch and shrug sequence.

Tips

- Keep your movements slow and controlled to prevent injury.
- Listen to your body; if you feel any discomfort beyond a stretch, stop the exercise.
- Focus on maintaining the correct posture throughout the exercise for the best results.
