Hip-Flexor Long Lunge Stretch
Instructions
Setup
From a standing position, take a large step forward with one leg.
Lower your body straight down until both knees are bent at approximately 90-degree angles, keeping the back knee hovered above the ground or gently placed down depending on comfort.
Movement
Ensure your torso is upright and stacked directly over your hips rather than leaning forward to maximize the stretch in the hip flexor of the back leg.
Keep your hands on your hips or at your sides for stability.
Actively tuck your tailbone and engage the glute of your back leg. This deliberate contraction of the gluteal muscles shifts the pelvis, intensify the stretch in the front of the hip.
Hold this position while breathing deeply, focusing on relaxing the hip muscles as you maintain the lunge posture.
