Instructions
1. Begin in a standing position with your feet shoulder-width apart and arms relaxed at your sides.
2. Shift your weight onto your left leg and lift your right foot, bending the knee slightly.
3. Tap the toes of your right foot to the side as far as comfortable without moving your left foot. This is the starting position.
4. Push off with your right foot to step to the side, simultaneously lifting your left foot and bending the knee to bring your left foot in for a tap next to your right foot. You should now be standing with your weight on the right leg and your left toes tapped beside the right foot.
5. Reverse the movement, pushing off with your left foot to step back to the left, bringing the right foot in for a tap next to the left foot.
6. Continue alternating side steps, tapping the opposite foot next to the stance leg each time.
7. Ensure your upper body remains upright, and your core is engaged throughout the exercise.
8. To increase the intensity, quicken your steps, traveling further side to side, or by adding arm movements.
Adjust the pace and range of motion according to your fitness level and space available. This exercise can be performed for a set number of steps or over a duration of time as part of a cardio workout routine or warm-up.
