Instructions

Setup

Place two yoga blocks on a mat a shoulder-width distance apart. Get into a high plank position with your hands firmly placed on top of the blocks, legs extended straight behind you.

Movement

  1. Maintain a strong, straight line from your head to your heels, engaging your core and glutes to prevent your hips from sagging or lifting.

  2. While keeping your hips as stable as possible, slowly lift one hand off its block.

  3. Reach to touch your opposite shoulder (or tap the floor in front of you) with a controlled motion.

  4. Return the hand to the block and repeat the movement with the other arm.

Form Tips

  • Minimize Hip Movement: Imagine you are balancing a glass of water on your lower back. Avoid rocking or swaying your hips from side to side as you lift each hand.

  • Control: Focus on slow, rhythmic repetitions rather than speed. The instability of the blocks forces your deep core muscles to work harder for balance.
