Dumbbell Hip Hinge Rotation Press
Instructions
Setup
Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart.
Hold a light dumbbell in each hand.
Perform a hip hinge by pushing your hips back and bending forward until your torso is nearly parallel to the floor. Keep your back flat and core tight.
Movement
Start in a bent-over position with the dumbbells held close to your chest.
Actively rotate your torso to one side while pushing the opposite dumbbell across your body, extending that arm fully.
Control the rotation as you bring the weight back to the starting position at your chest.
Repeat the movement by rotating to the opposite side and pressing with the other arm.
Continue alternating sides for the duration of the set.
Key Tips
Focus on thoracic mobility. The rotation should come from your mid-back, not your lower back.
Keep your core braced throughout the exercise to support your spine in the hinged position.
Move slowly to maintain balance, as the shifting weight can challenge your stability.
