Dumbbell Front Raise Plank
Supercharge your core and shoulder stability. This advanced plank variation integrates a weighted front raise to challenge your balance and build elite anti-rotational strength.
Instructions
Setup
Start in a forearm plank position, resting on your forearms with elbows directly under your shoulders.
Keep your body in a straight line from your head to your heels, engaging your core and glutes.
Place a single dumbbell on the mat in front of one arm.
Movement
Keeping your core braced to prevent your hips from rocking, reach the hand closest to the dumbbell forward and grasp it.
Lift the arm straight out in front of you until it is parallel to the ground.
Hold for a brief moment at the top before slowly lowering the dumbbell back to the mat.
Return to the starting forearm plank position.
Switch arms or repeat the movement, focusing on maintaining total torso stability throughout each lift.
Form Tips
Avoid hip rotation: If you feel your hips shifting, widen your feet slightly to increase your base of support.
Control the weight: Move deliberately rather than swinging the dumbbell to maximize the engagement of your core and shoulders.
