Dumbbell Boxing Punch
Instructions
Setup
Stand with your feet staggered in a light boxing stance, one foot slightly forward and the other back, with knees soft.
Hold a light dumbbell in each hand, keeping your fists at chin height, protecting your face.
Movement
From your guard position, extend one arm forward in a punching motion, rotating your fist inwards as you reach full extension.
As you punch, pivot slightly on the ball of the rear foot and rotate your core to drive power through the shoulder.
Exhale sharply during the extension of the arm.
Retract the hand quickly, pulling the dumbbell back to the guard position near your chin.
Immediately repeat the motion with the opposite arm, maintaining a rhythmic flow.
Tips
Keep it Controlled: Do not hyperextend or lock out your elbow at the peak of the punch.
Core Engagement: Focus on generating the punch from your torso rotation rather than just the arm.
Light Load: Use very light weights, as the primary goal is cardiovascular endurance and muscular toning, not heavy lifting.
