Instructions
Setup
Sit upright on a stability ball with your feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart. Maintain a neutral spine and engage your core for stability.
Execution
Reach one arm overhead, bending the elbow so your hand reaches down towards the center of your back.
Reach the other arm behind your back, bending at the elbow, and attempt to grasp the fingers of the upper hand.
Keep your chest open and avoid rounding your shoulders forward.
Hold the position for a comfortable amount of time, focusing on deep breathing.
Release the arms slowly and switch sides by placing the opposite arm overhead and the other behind the back.
Tips
If you cannot reach your fingers, use a small towel or strap to hold onto if needed, or simply work on moving them as close together as comfortably possible.
Keep your head in a neutral position, avoiding looking down or forward excessively.
