Instructions

1. Begin by sitting on the floor with your knees bent and feet flat on the ground.

2. Lean back slightly and lift your feet off the floor, keeping your knees bent, so that you balance on your sitting bones; this is the starting position.

3. Extend your legs out in front of you while simultaneously reaching your arms forward, maintaining balance, and ensuring your back is straight and not hunched.

4. Engage your core muscles to hold this 'V' shape, which resembles the position shown in the image, and is commonly known as the V-hold or boat pose.

5. From this 'V' position, while keeping your legs straight, perform a toe tap by lowering one leg towards the floor and tapping the toes lightly on the ground before lifting the leg back to the starting 'V' position.

6. Alternate the toe taps between your left and right foot, all while keeping your core engaged and your back straight.

7. Continue alternating taps for the desired number of repetitions or duration, ensuring the movement is controlled and not rushed.

8. Avoid letting your lower back sag or round during the exercise.

Remember to breathe steadily throughout the exercise and to scale the difficulty according to your fitness level, which can mean reducing the duration or the number of taps, or keeping the knees slightly bent if extending the legs fully is too challenging.
