Instructions
1. Begin in a standing position, and step your feet about 4 to 5 feet apart.
2. Turn your right foot out 90 degrees, so your toes are pointing to the right.
3. Bend your right knee, coming into a lunge. Align your right knee with your right ankle.
4. Bring your left hand to the outside of your right foot or on a block next to your right foot for support. Lengthen through the spine.
5. Twist your torso to the right, keeping your left leg strong and straight with heel pressing down.
6. Lift your right arm towards the ceiling, stacking your shoulders and opening your chest to maximize the twist.
7. Keep your gaze upward, toward your right hand, or in a position that is comfortable for your neck.
8. Hold the pose for several breaths, deepening the twist with each exhale.
9. To exit, look down at your right foot, release your right hand, and straighten up to a standing position.
10. Repeat on the other side for balance.
