Instructions

1. Position yourself on a leg press machine with your back and head comfortably against the padded support.

2. Place the balls of your feet on the bottom edge of the leg press platform, with your heels off the edge. Your toes should be pointing straight or slightly outwards. Keep your legs straight but do not lock your knees.

3. Release the safety handles and keep your hands on the side handles of the seat.

4. Press the platform by extending through your ankles and pushing your heels up as high as possible, contracting your calf muscles.

5. Slowly lower the weight by allowing your heels to come back down below the level of the platform, stretching your calves.

6. Repeat the movement for the desired number of repetitions.

7. After completing your set, safely re-engage the safety handles before removing your feet from the platform.

Make sure to execute the exercise in a controlled manner, focusing on the movement of the ankle joint to ensure effective targeting of the calf muscles. Adjust the weight accordingly to match your fitness level and strength. Also, be attentive to prevent the weight from dropping too quickly, as this can lead to injury.
